On 30 November, after nearly 20 years, I retired from Shortland Chambers. This was a decision made with very mixed feelings, but ultimately with certainty. Shortland Chambers has been a wonderful place to practice as a barrister. I will miss my Chambers colleagues and, perhaps even more, the brilliant junior barristers I have worked with over the years. They have invariably made barristerial life more stimulating and fun.
I have a number of on-going court commitments through 2022, but my intention is to be fully retired by the end of that year. During 2022 I intend to continue working from my well set up home office. I have a new email address: stephen.millsQC@counsel.nz. My mobile number is unchanged: 021 744 238.
