Julia practises in civil and commercial litigation. She has experience acting for clients on a wide range of disputes, including contract, trusts, company, banking, energy and construction matters. She also has expertise in assisting clients to respond to regulatory investigations.


Immediately prior to joining the bar, Julia was a senior associate in the litigation team at Chapman Tripp.  Earlier in her career she was a judges’ clerk in the Auckland High Court, and a junior barrister assisting the members at Shortland Chambers.


An experienced advocate, Julia has represented clients in court (including in criminal matters) and in arbitrations and mediations.


Julia holds a BA and LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland.  In a previous life she was a magazine journalist and subeditor.
