Patrick has 13 years’ experience working as an environmental and resource management lawyer. Over this time, he has worked on a broad range of legal matters and has appeared in the Court of Appeal, High Court, the Environment Court and in Commissioner-led (council-level) hearings. Patrick has also assisted clients with navigating various iterations of the fast-track consenting laws, including for housing, quarrying and industrial projects.
Patrick has represented some of New Zealand’s largest companies, key infrastructure operators, local government entities, industry bodies and non-governmental organisations, private developers and individuals. His clients value his responsive, proactive and personable approach.
Patrick has a broad practice with a special interest and experience in urban development, coastal projects, farming and freshwater, and climate change. He is based in Auckland but his practice spreads across New Zealand.
From 2022-2026, Patrick convened The Law Association of New Zealand’s Environment and Resource Management Committee, leading his peers on law and policy reform. Patrick is a current member of the Resource Management Law Association.
