Andrew has a broad civil and commercial practice with a particular focus on contract, property and construction disputes.


Andrew is a pragmatic and practical legal advisor, equally comfortable in Court, alternative dispute resolution forums or in providing strategic advice.  Andrew is conscious that the right outcome and how to get there differs for every client, and is focused on the drivers that inform those decisions and the proactive management of disputes.


Andrew has excellent academic and legal training.  He graduated with honours from the University of Auckland and also holds a Masters in Law (First Class Honours, Distinction) from Trinity College, Dublin, where he came first in his class.  Andrew first commenced practice at Russell McVeagh solicitors, before heading overseas to continue his professional training.  Following a period working in London, Andrew was a junior barrister at Shortland Chambers for a number of years. After a stint in private practice, Andrew has now returned to the Independent Bar.
