Greg Blanchard KC

Profile

I have a wide-ranging commercial litigation practice.  I appear at all levels of the New Zealand courts and am well-versed in alternative methods of dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation.  I am an expert in resolving disputes concerning contracts, companies, real estate, construction, financing, insolvency, trusts, taxation and shipping.

The Legal 500 Guide names me as a leading silk and describes me as ‘a first-class operator’ and a ‘tenacious and diligent barrister, with a highly pragmatic approach to litigation’.  I am also listed in Doyles Guide as a leading insolvency silk.

I have a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Auckland and was admitted to practice law in 1996.  I worked at the firm that is now Dentons Kensington Swan from then until 1999 and from 2003 to 2008, the last four years as a partner, and at Baker McKenzie in London from 2000 to 2002.  I joined the bar in 2008 and took silk in 2017.
