About Shortland Chambers
The barristers practice in the Supreme Court (New Zealand’s highest appellate court), the Court of Appeal, the High Courts, District Courts and various tribunals throughout New Zealand.
Past and present members have been active in the administration of the bar and legal practice in New Zealand, serving as members of the New Zealand Bar Association, the New Zealand Law Society, the Auckland District Law Society and the New Zealand Bar Council, its tribunals and committees.

Shortland Chambers has a distinguished record of the achievements of its past members, six of whom are presently Justices of the High Court of New Zealand and four of whom have been appointed District Court Judges.

Chambers Manager is Pamela Caldwell, who is responsible for the administration of the chambers. New Zealand chambers do not operate with Clerks. Rates and briefs are negotiated direct with counsel.
